Gabriel Torres graduated from MIT with a degree in physics and economics. He went on to work as a market maker for commodities options at Susquehanna International Group (SIG) and then became a partner at Hard Eight Trading. In 2014, Gabriel left Hard Eight to focus on investing in and advising startups, using his trading skillset to help optimize business models. In 2016 he co-founded Ricult, the award winning start-up from MIT that creates a path out of poverty for small-holder farmers in Pakistan and Thailand. Ricult is a double bottom line company that provides farmers with credit, farming inputs, agronomic services, and direct access to crop buyers.
