Arjan is the Managing Director of the Medical Credit Fund (MCF). He oversees MCF’s overall performance, operations and country offices. MCF is a non-profit health fund dedicated to providing loans to small and medium-sized healthcare facilities in Africa. Together with local partners, Medical Credit Fund works to reduce investment risks and improve the bankability of private healthcare enterprises. MCF believes that by increasing the total amount of available capital for the health sector, healthcare providers can deliver better services for larger numbers of primarily low-income individuals. MCF is the first and only fund of its kind.
Arjan joined MCF in 2017 after a banking career of 18 years with ING and Rabobank, most of which in Africa in senior executive roles. He has expertise in SME lending, commercial and risk management, development finance and change management. He holds a Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering of Delft Technical University, the Netherlands.
