Global Lead, Trade Advisory Services of the Global Trade Finance Program (GTFP) - IFC
Alexei Timofti is the Global Lead, Trade Advisory Services of the Global Trade Finance Program (GTFP) at International Finance Corporation (IFC), the World Bank Group, based in Washington, DC. IFC’s GTFP has supported more than US$60 billion trade by issuing more than 60,000 guarantees for 285+ financial institutions in 85 countries. Alexei has 20 years of experiences having worked in several IFC regions, including Sub-Sharan Africa and Europe and Central Asia, based in Johannesburg and Washington, DC. Having joined IFC in 2009, he helped found two global securitized trade finance credit programs that facilitated over $60 billion in trade and commodity finance, globally. Alexei has been Global Lead for Trade Advisory since October 2016. Alexei holds a Master of Business Administration, MBA, degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management; and a Master of Laws, LL.M., in International and Comparative Law from the George Washington University Law School.
